EMPLOYMENT

 

The District currently employs 36 full-time employees who include a range of Certified Water Distribution, Professional, Administrative, and Technical positions.

 

Vacancies are filled, when practical, by promotion or transfer of existing District employees.  This often leads to a vacancy for an entry level position (Maintenance/Repair/Construction, Field Services Representatives or Customer Service Representatives).  The District uses temporary staff through employment agencies such as Staffing Alternatives and Specialized Services (S.A.S.S.) and Technical Office and Support Services (T.O.S.S.) as a means of screening and qualifying candidates when filling entry level positions on an interim basis.  Usually, the District will permit the temporary staff to apply for a permanent position after 6 months, if a permanent position is available.

 

Chosen applicants will be subject to criminal record, DMV driving record, and alcohol and substance abuse screening.
